DESCRIPTION: Four is the fourth studio album by the English-Irish boy band One Direction, released on 17 November 2014 by Columbia Records and Syco Music.

On 27 April 2014, it was confirmed that One Direction were working on their fourth studio album. Good Charlotte was reported to have collaborated with band members Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson for writing songs. McFly members Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones and Dougie Poynter also teamed up with Niall Horan to write for the album. Rock band Kodaline wrote an "unrequited love song" with Harry Styles. Rock band The 1975 were also chosen by One Direction to work on the album. Other people involved in the album include singers John Legend and Emeli Sandé and producer Naughty Boy. Payne claimed that the album would be "edgier" and that the group have written most of the songs for it.

The name and cover of the album were announced on 8 September on One Direction's official website, along with a free download of a song called "Fireproof", which was available for 24 hours. Horan stated that the reason for the free download was "because you have supported us so much, we wanted to give a little something back". "Fireproof" was written by Payne and Tomlinson along with John Ryan, Jamie Scott and Julian Bunetta, who also wrote their single "Story of My Life". In the 24-hour span, 1.1 million downloads were generated. The song was put on the band's Vevo on 22 September.

In an interview with Simon Cowell, it was revealed that one of the songs for the album will be titled "18". The song was written by Ed Sheeran, who also wrote "Little Things" and "Moments" for the group.

The album's production differs from Swift's previous work. Unlike others, 1989 is built over drum programming, synthesizers, pulsating bass, processed backing vocals and guitars. Its lyrical content is based mainly on Swift's style of writing about love, the album's content frequently discusses the complexities of relationships.

1989 received generally favorable reviews from contemporary music critics, who felt that its experimental production was well executed. "Shake It Off" was released as the lead single from the record on August 18, 2014. It debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, becoming Swift's second number-one single in the country and the twenty-second track to debut in the peak position on that chart in Billboard history. "Blank Space" was serviced as the second single from the project on November 10, 2014.

DESCRIPTION: Gypsy Heart is the upcoming fifth studio album by American singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat. It will be released on September 30, 2014 by Republic Records. It was produced by American record producer Babyface. It features songwriting collaborations with past co-writer, Jason Reeves, as well as new co-writers and producers Max Martin, Julian Bunetta, and Johan Carlsson. The album's lead single, "Try", was released as the iTunes Store single of the week of June 9 to the 16. The album's second single "Just Like That" was released to digital retailers on September 9.It was also confirmed by Republic Records as the second single of the album.

Sonically, the EP is a musical departure from Caillat's previous releases, with a more produced sound. She stated in an interview with Fuse TV that working with new producers helped her "get out of [her] comfort zone". All of the songs on Gypsy Heart (Side A) are more produced than her usual releases, except for "Try". She describes the EP as "a fun new way to put out music", and as a blend of pop, folk, and R&B music. Of her collaboration with Babyface, Caillat says that "he just knows how to make the sound so crisp, and real, and current."

However, some criticized the "rebellious" attitude in some tracks, calling it forced and unnatural. Avril Lavigne debuted at number five on the Billboard 200, selling 44,000 copies in its first week. While this proved to be her fifth consecutive top-five album on the chart, it also tallied the lowest first-week sales of Lavigne's career. It also peaked at number two in Japan, selling 47,873 copies in its first week, the highest opening for the album in a particular country. Worldwide, the album impacted moderately on the charts, reaching the top-ten in over twelve countries, while peaking at number one in China and Taiwan.

Three singles were released from the album worldwide. The first, "Here's to Never Growing Up", garnered moderate success, reaching the top-twenty in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. The second, "Rock n Roll", received less impact, while the third, "Let Me Go" was somewhat better on the Canadian Hot 100 chart. Lavigne also released a controversial video for the Japan-only promotional single "Hello Kitty". To further promote the album, Lavigne embarked on her fifth tour, Avril Lavigne On Tour.

Description: Science & Faith is the second studio album by Irish pop rock band The Script. It was released in Ireland on 10 September 2010, via RCA Records. It was preceded by the lead single, "For the First Time", on 3 September 2010. It debuted at number one in Ireland and United Kingdom, selling 70,816 copies in its first week in the United Kingdom. In the United States, Science & Faith debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 49,000 copies. The album has sold 314,000 copies in the US, and over 1.5 million worldwide. The album was met with generally mixed reviews.

"For the First Time" was released as the album's lead single in Ireland on 3 September 2010, and in the United Kingdom on 5 September. It debuted at number one in Ireland, becoming their first number-one single. The song went on to peak at two on the UK Singles Chart, originally entering the chart at five.
The single's release was backed with a live version of "Breakeven" from the Shephard's Bush Empire concert. A version of "Rusty Halo" from the concert was earlier released as B-side to "The Man Who Can't Be Moved".

"Nothing" was released as the second single from the album on 19 November 2010. It peaked at #15 in Ireland and #42 in the United Kingdom, becoming the band's lowest charting single there to date. The single was heavily promoted, with a music video being released one and a half months prior to the single's release, and the song receiving heavy radio airplay from BBC Radio 2.

"If You Ever Come Back" was released as the third single from the album on 4 April 2011. The single was promoted through a performance during the band's stint as house band on Jason Manford's Comedy Rocks! on 30 March. A music video was also filmed to promote the release, and despite being labelled by critics as one of the standout tracks from the album, it only peaked at #188 on the UK Singles Chart, becoming the band's worst performing single ever.
"Science & Faith" was released as the album's fourth and final single on 27 May 2011. The single was backed with a live version of the track from the Birmingham N.E.C, which was later included on the Asian Tour Edition of the album. It faired moderate success, peaking at #62 on the UK Singles Chart, and being promoted through a performance of the track during the live stages of the fifth series of Britain's Got Talent.

"Walk Away" was originally due to be released as a single in the United States, even being remixed to feature American rapper B.o.B. However, the release was cancelled, and the remix was instead included as a bonus track on the American edition of the album. "Walk Away" was never considered for release in any other territory.

DESCRIPTION: Yours Truly is the debut studio album by American recording artist Ariana Grande. It was released on August 30, 2013 through Republic Records. Incorporating R&B, pop and soul, Yours Truly was influenced by Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse, Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey amongst other of Grande's idols. Grande describes the album's first half as a "throwback" to the R&B music of the 1990s, and the second half being "very unique and very special that I've sort of written" which is completely original. The album's physical copy features a twelve-track standard edition, while the digital copy features the Spanglish version of "The Way" as a bonus track. On the album, Grande co-wrote five out of the thirteen tracks.

Grande called upon the likes of Harmony Samuels, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Patrick "J. Que" Smith and Leon Thomas III as well as others, to handle production for the album. Grande recorded a number of songs for the album over a three year period. Amongst those included are collaborations with Big Sean, Mika and Mac Miller, in addition to The Wanted's Nathan Sykes, who features on the song "Almost is Never Enough" which was also included on the The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones soundtrack. Occasionally, the album dips into other genres such as adult contemporary and dance music.

Yours Truly was promoted with live renditions of the album's songs during The Listening Sessions Tour. The album was preceded by the release of the lead single, "The Way", featuring American rapper Mac Miller. It became a top-ten hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at number nine. The second single, "Baby I", was released a month before the album and peaked just outside the top-twenty of the Billboard Hot 100 chart at number twenty-one. The third and final single "Right There" featuring Big Sean was released on August 6, 2013 and peaked at number 84 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Upon its release, the album received general acclaim from music critics, with much praise going to her vocals, with critics comparing them to Mariah Carey, and her throwback to 1990s R&B music. Yours Truly debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 selling 138,000 copies in its opening week. Grande became the first female artist to have their debut record in the peak position since Animal by Kesha in January 2010, and the fifteenth female artist overall. Internationally, the album reached the top-ten position in Australia, Canada, Denmark, Ireland, Japan, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.

Gone is the celebrated wordplay, a self-conscious maturation that was perhaps inevitable, but also absent are the smooth soul flourishes of 2012's Love Is a Four Letter Word."
